Atlas Men

Atlas Men showcases the masculine portrait photography of MJ Atlas. AtlasMen.com was launched in January 2006 as a daily photoblog in the time before smartphones, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. As a personal art project, the site posted a new, original photo portrait every day for next six years. MJ’s distinctive bold and classical style captured over 100 men in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and helped to define male portrait photography of the era.  

Atlas Men images have been featured in a book, magazines, calendars, advertisements and art gallery shows. A curated (and unfortunately censored) selection of these images can be explored on these pages.

A twenty year anniversary book, Atlas Men TWO, is in the works and will include full exposure portraits of Atlas Men old and new.
